The first VOICE Mobility award has been presented to Mr Neil Betteridge, as chair and representative of the Disabled Persons Transport Advisory Committee (DPTAC) in the UK. The award highlights the importance of the work carried out by the Committee and the commitment of its members to ensuring that the often forgotten voice of disabled road users are heard.
DPTAC is an independent body that advises the British Government on all matters relating to access of disabled persons to all modes of transport. It is an excellent example of what other EU Member States can do to make sure that the needs of disabled and other vulnerable road users are taken into account.
The awards take the form of original cartoons.
